Halloween Jello Shots | DIY

These fun Halloween Treats have always been a hit. SO easy too.  Read more for the full DIY recipe,  water to liquor ratios, and jello flavor and liquor combo suggestions. I like to use strawberry or cherry jello to make it look like blood in the syringes, but you can you use any color / liquor combo to coordinate with your party decor.

Ingredients:

8oz Your choice of liquor (8oz) per jello packet

3 oz jello packet (flavor of your choice)

8oz boiling water

package of washed and cleaned plastic syringes (widely available at your party supply store and online. one company is EZ-Squeeze

Directions:

Bring 8oz of water to a boil

open jello packet in a bowl

pour boiling water over and mix for 2 minutes

when cooled, add 8oz of your liquor ( if making without alcohol, replace this step with 8oz of cold water)

mix

suck up in individual syringes
You must store syringe upside down at all times until jello solidifies

pour left over jello mixture in plastic shot glasses

Refrigerate for atleast 3 hours, but over night is best.

Margarita Jello Shot

3 oz. package lime Jello
8 oz. (1 cup) boiling water
4 oz. tequila
4 oz. sweet and sour or Margarita mix
Substitute watermelon Jello for lime for a melon margarita.

Strawberry Daiquiri Jello Shot

3 oz. package wild strawberry Jello
8 oz. (1 cup) Boiling water
6 oz. white rum
1 oz. sweet and sour or Margarita mix

Fuzzy Navel Jello Shot

3 oz. package orange Jello
8 oz. (1 cup) boiling water
2 oz. vodka
6 oz. peach schnapps

Cherry Amaretto Jello Shot

3 oz. package cherry Jello
8 oz. (1 cup) boiling water
2 oz. cold water
6 oz. amaretto

Sex on the Beach Jello Shot

3 oz. package orange Jello
8 oz. (1 cup) boiling cranberry juice
3 oz. peach schnapps
5 oz. vodka

“Gin and Juice” Jello Shot

3 oz. package lime Jello
8 oz. (1 cup) boiling grapefruit soda
4 oz. gin
4 oz. cold water

JagerBomb Jello Shot

6 oz. package orange Jello
1 can Red Bull, heated to boiling
4 oz. Jagermeister
2 oz. vodka
2 oz. cold water
Dissolve Jello in heated Red Bull, then add liquors and cold water.

Pina Colada Jello Shot

1 envelope plain gelatin powder
8 oz. (1 cup) Boiling pineapple juice
6 oz. Malibu
1 oz. Amaretto
4 oz. Sweetened coconut cream (Coco Rosie, etc.)

Mojito Jello Shot

3 oz. package lime Jello
8 oz. (1 cup) Boiling water
6 oz. white rum
2 oz. cold water
Mint leaves, chopped and crushed

Here are some liquor combo suggestions categorized by jello flavor:

Lime Jello Shots:

Captain Morgan Spiced Rum – Great flavor, party favorite.
Absolut Citron – Crisp and lively citrus flavor.
Tequila – Plain tequila and lime is the quick and dirty way to make a “margarita” shot.

Cherry Jello Shots:

99 Black Cherries - awesome cherry flavor, but strong alcohol content
Three Olives Cherry Vodka - Rich cherry flavor, easy to swallow.
Amaretto -Tastes like the syrup from a jar of maraschino cherries
Peach Schnapps – Mild but flavorful, tastes like candy.
Crème de cacao – This creates a chocolate/cherry flavor. 

Orange Jello Shots:

Peach Schnapps – Use for a Fuzzy Navel effect. Sweet and mellow flavor.
Tequila – Tangy and spicy, the orange really smooths out the tequila. 
Captain Morgan’s Rum - Sweet and spicy, would be good for the holidays. 
Amaretto Liquor – Tastes like a creamsicle or Orange Julius. 
Malibu Rum – Very smooth, pleasant coconut aftertaste. 
Southern Comfort – Sweet with a bit more alcoholic bite.
99 Oranges Liquor - Be cafeful, 99 Proof, may sneak up on you later.
Absolut Mandarin - Sweet citrus flavor will amaze your guests.

Lemon Jello Shots:

Absolut Citron – Tart and clean, like a lemon drop but not as sweet.

Watermelon Jello Shots:

Three Olives Watermelon - Enjoy a watermelon with out the seeds.
Sour Apple Schnapps – Fantastic flavor, tastes exactly like a Jolly Rancher.
Tequila – Complex, tangy flavor, has a bite to it. 
Midori – Sweet, more of a true melon flavor.

99 Bananas Liquor - Awesome strawberry-banana combo.
Peach Schnapps – Sweet and candylike, like a lollipop.
White rum – The quick and dirty strawberry daiquiri. 
Tequila – Peppery, tangy, not overly sweet but strong.
Sour Apple Schnapps – Schnapps enhances the berry flavor for a sweet/tart effect.

Parrot Bay Coconut Rum – Sweet, tart-like, great beach flavor.
